Blue Cross Blue Shield is our third party adminstrator for our self-insured health plan. Being self-insured means that SFBLI and its employee incur the costs of going over our premium dollars at the end of the year. Premium rates are based upon the last 18 months of claims and are projected based on these rates and the estimated trend rate.
